I just picked up my copy of Bridging the Divide. I am a Mormon who lives in Utah and just returned from my mission to Illinois. Of my whole mission experience I only had one or two conversations with evangelicals in which their was a mutual trust and charity as exibited in this book, and they were both very defining moments in my life. When pretense and prejudice are put aside to really understand the thoughts and feelings of another person something really important and divine has taken place. I for one am very grateful for this kind of book.
Hey Jeffersonking, on behalf of Robert Millet and myself, let me just say a big thanks for your kind words about our new book. We continue to hear good things and it seems like evangelicals and Mormons are both a bit tired of the confrontational approach and are looking for way to just sit down and talk about eternal truth. With Convicted Civility it really is possible. We keep our truth convictions, but we show ourselves mature enough to be civil about our interation. So, thanks again and keep spreading the word.
I am trying to rectify the Jesus of Mormonism who is one of countless Gods and who became a God with the Jesus of the Bible who it would appear IS God incarnate. How can orthodox Christianity harmonize with Mormonism if their Jesus' are obviously not the same? Thanks for your help on this.
